Head: 17 inches (75%)
Weight: 14 lb 2 oz (20%)
Height: 27 1/2 inches (95%)
The doctor wasn't worried about her weight percentage. I guess all of her food and energy is directed to her height. I didn't realize she was THAT tall. Maddie has a lot of work to do over the next three months. By the next appointment she needs to be on solids three times a day. Right now she has one, but not consistently. Since the appointment we've been feeding her solids at least once a day, sometimes twice. We'll feed her rice cereal in the morning and then vegetables in the evening. I even tried making my own food tonight. I mashed some potatoes and carrots and mixed them together. It was a lot of work for something she just spit back out so we may stick with store bought. I'll try it again before giving up. The doctor also told us to work on her grip. He suggested biter biscuits (biscuits from Gerber) for Maddie to practice griping and eating. He didn't tell me what a mess they were! Jojo got so excited when I took the biscuit from the box. He sat down waiting for the treat and was so confused when I gave it to the baby.
Dr. Godfrey also suggested pizza crust for her to play with so when my mom and I went to California Pizza Kitchen today for lunch we gave Maddie some crust. It certainly kept her happy through the meal. I kept replacing her crust with new ones so they didn't get too soaked. I felt guilty because I finished my entire pizza but then my mom reminded me that I didn't eat any crust so that made me feel better.

Dr. Godfrey also suggested letting Maddie play with and drink water out of a sippy cup without the valve in place (that was our problem Elaine). She enjoyed it but got a little soaked. I think she likes regular glasses better.
So we have our work cut out for us, but it's all fun :)! My parents and brother are visiting now. Look for some pictures of their visit coming soon.
