Fun weekend

Nashville finally had a break from the cold weather. This weekend was sunny and 65 degrees. We took walks and played at the park. It felt great being outside again. We also went to a birthday party at BounceU. I have never seen Maddie have so much fun. I was worried about chasing her through the obstacles at 24 weeks pregnant since Jon couldn't be with us. It turns out that there were workers at the party who took her for me. She also could do most everything herself. She ran from slide to slide laughing with joy. It was adorable.

At Granny White park on Friday. We still needed a coat.

Sliding at BounceU.

She's such a big girl now using a cup.

Still working on her lemonade.

"Mmmm, cake!"

Gramps 90th birthday celebration!

Maddie and I drove to Indianapolis over the weekend to celebrate Gramp's 90th birthday (with the help of my kind parents who rode with us). We bought a van the weekend before so I really appreciated the DVD player and extra space on the trip. It took 6 1/2 hours on Saturday with all of our stops and potty breaks for Maddie. She didn't sleep at all but did well. We left Indy on Sunday after dinner. Maddie fell asleep 2 1/2 hours into the trip and slept the rest of the way home. I definitely prefer driving at night for that reason. We just beat all of the snow that hit Nashville that night.

"Hello, 911...I'd like to report that my mom is a bad driver."

Reading with my cousin, Caroline.

Cousins

Gramps with his two great-grandchildren (Maddie and the one still in the belly)

They were nice and took one of my face as well.

The family

Monday morning at home.

Snowing again!! Unfortunately it's snowed every Monday for the last 3 weeks so Maddie's school was canceled.

"How am I ever going to meet cute boys if you dress me like this?" (Actually she dressed herself this way.)

Cooking, new clothes, and Valentines.

Helping make cupcakes for her birthday. The before picture.

The after picture. Just a note for anyone cooking with a toddler: Remember to lock down the arm while the mixer is beating.

A present from our friends Anna and James. She had to put the dress over her clothes.

Dressed for church.

I went on a shopping spree for some spring clothes. Maddie wanted to try everything on right away. (Notice the hair. That's what the pigtails amounted to at the end of the day)

Valentines playgroup with our friends.

Maddie's birthday

Maddie turned 2 this week! We decided not to have a party this year and make it a family weekend. Maddie has never had both sets of grandparents together before. I'm really glad we made this decision because it snowed all day on Friday and the roads were horrible Saturday morning. The party would have been canceled anyway. Luckily both sets of grandparents made it here safely and we spent the weekend holed up together at home since the roads weren't cleared until Monday.

Cleaning house before the Schneiders arrive.

Attempting to sled down our snowy hill. Maddie was not a big fan of sledding.

"If I only had a frozen flagpole to lick."

"Maddie, just don't eat the yellow snow."

"If I just keep smiling like this I will be in their wills in no time."

New chair...pink, of course.

Presents!

New bag...pink, of course.

She wasn't sure why we were singing to her, but she enjoyed it.

"Am I supposed to eat the '2'?"

Captured on video.

She definitely did not receive much attention this weekend.

"When the heck did we move to Alaska?"
