Anna and James visit Nashville

This week my good friend Anna drove from Cincinnati to visit us. I met her 10 month old, James, for the first time. He is such a precious, sweet little boy. It was wonderful having them here and so nice for me to have another adult to talk to during the day :) Maddie loved James. She treated him like another pet. She kept patting his head and trying to give him hugs. At one point she pinned him on the ground and laid her head on his back. Of course we were always close by to make sure she didn't get as rough as she is with JoJo, but he didn't appear to mind because he never fussed at her. Maddie is around other kids quite often but I've never seen her act like this. Maddie also loved Anna and beamed whenever Anna was around. We miss them already!!!!!

I haven't posted in a while so I'll share some pictures from the past couple of weeks.

Watch out Casper, here she comes.

"I just can't get this place clean!"

Up to no good!

It's meal time.

My Gym class

Now she's really up to no good.

Balancing beam

Apparently blue is her favorite color. She picked out only the blue balls to put in her mouth.

Separation time. I think Maddie found me.

"Look James, a meerkat!"

"Maddie, please stop touching my head!"

"Do I really have to share my bath with a boy?"

"I really wish she'd leave me alone!"

Anna managed to put pigtails in Maddie's hair. She's being a little ham in this picture.

I love the pigtails, but have not been able to style her hair since Anna left. She's too quick for me.

Busy Busy Busy

We've had a busy week and a half. First, we decided we're going to visit France this summer! My parents are moving back next September and want to show off their grand baby to all of their friends. I'm so excited to visit one last time before they leave because Evian is just so beautiful! I think the week over there will be fabulous but I am nervous about the long flight with an 18 month old. Maddie will have her own seat which will make a difference so we can only hope for the best. Jet lag may also be a problem :( Anyways, I finally gathered all the documents and applied for her passport today.

Maddie got her first hair cut on Saturday. She won't keep bows in so her hair is always in her eyes. I wanted them to cut only bangs so the back can grow out. The stylist cut everything to get rid of split ends and to help the hair grow. I think she looks so much older now, and I'm going to dress her in a lot of pink dresses so there's no mistaking her for a boy.

Jon and I went to the Brad Paisley concert on Saturday night. It was awesome!! I can see now why he's the CMA's Entertainer of the year. It just amazed me all the technology and special affects he used in the show. Everything was timed perfectly and he just did a great job. We also heard Darious Rucker and Dierks Bentley. It was a fun evening.

The finished product.

A friend's birthday party at My Gym.

Hanging out with Dad on Sunday morning.

"Yay, we're going to the zoo!"

"We don't need shoes there, do we?"

I was more interested in the tigers than she was.

Baby tigers. So cute.

A very serious father and daughter. The were both enamored with the goats.

I wish she wasn't blurry in this picture. Unfortunately I haven't learned how to focus my camera yet.

With a little help from Mom.

"I finally get up here and I forgot a book to read!"

Walking JoJo around the house. Doesn't he look humiliated.

Story time this morning.
