It's finally Fall!

Well, Fall has finally hit Nashville. It's been absolutely beautiful here. A little drier than I would have liked since our grass needs a good watering, but I'm certainly not going to complain about clear blue skies every day. It's been a crazy couple of weeks. Nashville had a major gas shortage over the last week. Luckily I filled up before the mayhem because there were lines at all the gas stations that wrapped around corners. Jon and I were down to just my car over the weekend but since I would go crazy if I didn't have a car during the week he had to wait in line on Sunday. Luckily the situation is better now.

Maddie is doing great lately. She's such a sweet little girl! I really think she'll start crawling within the week. She will now lift up on her hands and knees and move a few steps before falling back to her belly. Last week she also has started pushing herself to a sitting position. Every time I'd go in her room after a nap or in the middle of the night she's sitting up smiling at me. Each stage really is so exciting. I know I shouldn't look forward to crawling since our house is not baby proofed yet but I think it'll be so much fun chasing her around. It'll certainly give me some exercise, which I need right now. I haven't made it to the gym in 2 weeks! Maddie had a cold last week so I didn't want to get other kids sick, and now this week I've sheltered her slightly because I don't want her to get sick again! I've used my jogging stroller a bunch over the last two weeks though. It's great exercise but Maddie hasn't been enjoying it lately so I usually only make it a mile or a mile and a half before she gets fussy.

Bath time is fun!

I thought this outfit was adorable!

I took this video because I thought Maddie was clapping every time I said the word. Apparently that was just a coincidence.

Catching up on some reading.

I love the shoes (thanks Genny!). Maddie couldn't figure out what was on her feet.
Isn't she pretty?

Mary Kay

So Maddie and I have something to announce .....

I've started a Mary Kay business.

I thought this could be something fun that fits into my life right now. We'll see where it takes me.

If anyone is interested in some great products you can order from my website http://www.marykay.com/beckyschneid. My debut party is on September 28th so if you live in Nashville and would like to attend please let me know. There will be refreshments and door prizes.

I appreciate everyone's support as I try something new.

There's nothing sweeter ...

than rocking your baby to sleep.

Maddie usually goes down to sleep no problem. All I do is lay her down with a pacifier and she falls to sleep on her own. Her nap schedule today was messed up since she woke up at 8:15 instead of 7 (nice for me to sleep in), and on top of her cold, she refused her afternoon nap. It probably didn't help that I wasn't here due to the VHA Luncheon and she usually nurses before she naps. Anyways, I tried to let her cry it out once I got home but didn't have the heart for it today since she's sick. I picked her up and just rocked her in the glider until she fell asleep. I could think of a million things on my todo list today but there was nothing I wanted more than to sit there and hold my sleeping baby.

My freedom is almost gone!

Maddie started to show an interest in crawling this week. Notice all the toys on the bed but what she really wants is my cell phone!!

7 months old

Maddie turned 7 months old 2 days ago. I really can't believe it! Time is flying by and before I know it she'll be walking and chattering away. Not much new to report since the last time. She's almost sleeping through the night. She wakes around 5 then will go back to bed till 7. I think she's trying to crawl. She has the movement down with her back legs but hasn't realized she needs to use her arms as well.

Bathing Maddie in the sink. I think we're going to upgrade to the big bathtub soon since she sits so well.

The first time to ride in the shopping cart. Jon already told me he doesn't want to shop with us if we use her pink shopping cart cover.

I love the way her toes curl when she sits.

Talking to JoJo

Eating a banana. Right now that's her favorite food. I'll mix foods that she isn't fond of with banana and she'll love it. This mesh feeder gets disgusting, but it keeps her happy while I prepare her food so it's worth it :)

Grabbing her dad's glasses.

"Hmmm, which toy should I play with first"

The photos look good. Now comes the hard part of narrowing them down.
