Christmas at our house

Hi Everyone. Sorry you haven't heard from us in a month and a half! Since my last blog post we traveled to Dallas for Thanksgiving, pet zebras, turned Caitlyn orange from too many carrots and sweet potatoes, traveled to Baltimore for Janna's baby shower, and have enjoyed getting ready for Christmas.
Can you tell what team we root for?

At a nature center near Dallas, looking for Zebras.

We found one. This one got a little too close and scared Maddie. She sat in the back of the van after this crying that they'll hurt her.

Doesn't she look orange? Don't worry, we cut back on the root vegetables after we noticed this.

Janna loved cuddling Caitlyn. Maddie stayed home with my parents and Jon.

Christmas has always been my favorite holiday and this year was no exception. My parents, brother and grandfather all visited us for the holiday. Christmas Eve started out with church.

Leaving out cookies and milk for Santa.

Then a delicious ham meal after the kids were in bed. The guys then spent two hours assembling Maddie's present from Santa while we watched "It's a Wonderful Life." Perfect Christmas Eve!

On Christmas morning we had a wonderful surprise. A white Christmas! This hasn't happened in Nashville for 17 years.

Unfortunately Jon had to work on Christmas morning. My brother videoed us going downstairs that morning to show daddy later.

We started the day with homemade Cinnamon rolls and bread. Once Jon was home, we opened all the presents. It was definitely a day to remember!

Gramps looking through the calendar I get my family every year. I'll try to post it if I can figure out how.

Jon got a Kindle from my parents. He got me a laptop!! I felt really bad about the toothpaste dispenser I bought him :)

Maddie gave them a very important job of watching her babies. Someone should teach Uncle Jon how to hold one.

These two were most entertained by the bubble wrap.

Enjoying the snow.

We finished the day with a turkey dinner.

Wonderful day!

The videos are back

We just bought a new pocket video camera after misplacing the last one. We think that our two year old stashed it somewhere so I'm sure it'll turn up eventually, but we can't wait until that day. Miss Caitlyn is growing up so fast and we don't want to forget a minute of it. It's hard to believe she's already 5 months old! She can roll over and she started vegetables this month. So far she's tried sweet potatoes and carrots and loves them both.

Happy Halloween

We had a fun Halloween. Maddie was a cupcake and Caitlyn was a pumpkin. Maddie wore her costume four separate times to truly get our money's worth out of it :) Caitlyn's costume was so bulky that she couldn't fit into her car seat with it on, so she just wore hers on Halloween night. Nana came to visit for a weekend and we went to our church's Fall Festival. We also trick or treated at the zoo and then in our neighborhood Halloween night. I think we'll still be eating all of our candy this time next year.

I'm glad there's no such thing as too much pink!

Maddie is an expert with Nana's Iphone. She knows how to search through the menu and select the games. She can also scroll through the pictures and play videos.

Ready to eat.

Meal time again.

Fall Fest

I was shocked she rode on the pony!

Playing in Memorial Park, before a ranger told them not to climb on the statues.

The artist at work.

Yummy rice cereal

Hay ride at the zoo.

My little pumpkin.

The only animals who made an appearance were the flamingos
