How to wear out kids on a rainy day.
1. Make them run in circles.
2. Encourage the baby to crawl. (excuse the bumpy footage. I had a 3 yr old trying to sabotage the filming)
3. Try to change the baby who won't hold still. (that probably wears me out more than the baby.)
Unfortunately those tactics didn't work very well. Caitlyn just took an hour afternoon nap and Maddie didn't nap at all. Better luck tomorrow.

The party was a success.
I was worried. Maddie didn't take a nap the day of the party. Caitlyn goes to bed at 6. I thought we'd have meltdowns from both girls before the day was over. I also wasn't sure how Maddie would handle so much attention. She did great. We had the party at Gymboree play and music. They let the kids roam and explore but had a small program with music, bubbles, and a big parachute.

The bubbles were a big hit!

Playing dress-up

Even Caitlyn liked the bubbles.

Maddie wanted to hold Owen and Drew's hands as they jumped. Unfortunatly they didn't jump at the same time so both boys were pulled off the mat. Luckily everyone came out of the fall with smiles.

A parade to the back for pizza.

This is when my camera ran out of batteries. They ended the party with singing, dancing, and a parchute. The kids loved it!

Caitlyn's pictures
Here are Caitlyn's 7 month pictures. They turned out great. She was so cooperative and smiling the entire time. It was her sister we couldn't get to sit still.

The big 3!
Three years ago our lives changed with a sweet little 6 lb baby. We have loved seeing our baby grow into a preschooler. She has grown out of the toddler phase now (at least she doesn't look like one anymore since she's almost too tall for 4T clothing). I have to admit, the 2's were hard on us. With that being said, it's amazing how you don't remember the tough times and battles we had. I look back at pictures of her on her last birthday and get sad that she's getting so big.
Maddie had a good birthday with one little hiccup. Caitlyn got sick last week and then Maddie caught it just before the weekend. All four grandparents visited over the weekend and we had a birthday party planned. We had to cancel the party but still celebrated with our family. On her actual birthday we went to McDonald's for lunch and enjoyed the day together. Today she's celebrating at school with friends and cupcakes and then her other party was moved to next weekend. She's going to think her birthday lasts all month. Happy Birthday big girl. We love you.
Pappy and Gramma love their grand kids. Can you tell Maddie's watching Barney? A funny quote from the weekend. Elaine and Maddie settle down on the couch to watch Barney together. Elaine "I haven't seen Barney in a long time" Maddie lays her head on her shoulder "Yeah, me too" (she had just watched Barney in the car that morning)

Installing a back-up camera for my van. Love it.

Pappy's two helpers.

Lots of presents.

Poor Caitlyn only had a napkin to chew on.

Look at Caitlyn in these two pictures. She definitely has an eye for cupcakes.

It was so warm over the weekend that we got out to the park.

Hmmm, looking a little orange again. More peas and less carrotts.

Sweet moment with Daddy.

"Was that you tickling my ear?"

"Oh sister, stop it! That gets me every time!"

Maddie's actual birthday. McDonald's has a really great play area and a section for birthday parties. I'll have to remember that next year.

Figuring out how to get three fingers.

"I'm 3!"

"There we go. Got it."

I love this picture.
