Halloween

The day before Halloween we got together with friends and all the kids dressed up and decorated cookies. It was supposed to rain on Halloween night but luckily it turned out to be perfect weather. I layered Maddie up in her little fairy costume so she was nice and warm. We only went out for about 30 minutes but it was perfect. She got a blow pop at our first stop and had already figured out how to open it by the time we reached the second house.

She loved running down their driveway.

"I'm flying. If only I was at the bow of a ship, I could be in Titanic."

Getting ready for our big night.

"Daddy, how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?"

"Hey...I don't think these losers are giving away candy this year."

Looking through her stash.

Maddie's visit to Nana and Grandpa's

Maddie stayed with her grandparents in Dallas while Jon and I took our first adult-only trip in 21 months. Maddie and I flew into Dallas a couple days before I met up with Jon. Jon had a conference in San Diego so I accompanied him out there. It was a great, relaxful trip but we definitely missed our little girl.

Ready for the hot tub.

"I'm not so sure about this"

Maddie's new toy

Once she found this bottle in her room that's all she wanted to drink from.

We went to a western-themed dinner one night. They had entertainment, a petting zoo, and other activities for kids.

The sweetest thing ever.

Dancing.

"Oh wait, there's a stage. I need to dance up here."

"Mommy's gone now so it's just me and the grandparents. It's not so bad, they bought me a new toy."

"Grandpa, you wanna waterski behind me?"

"The visit's over already?"
