Well, I can not believe you're one year old today!!!! It seems like just yesterday we were checking into Baptist Hospital, anxious to finally meet our little girl. I remember holding you that day, not wanting to put you down even though you were sleeping and I was so tired after laboring all night before. I was so excited each time the nurse woke me up that night to feed you because it reminded me that I had a precious little angel of my own now. Of course, that initial excitement of overnight feedings passed on the second night since neither of us got any sleep. It took 11 months but I'm happy to say you're sleeping through the night now :)
You have made this year so memorable and special. I have loved every second of it. It's amazing to think back on the newborn you once were to the big girl you are now. You just started to walk this week, and that's all you want to do now. You still need our help but nothing makes you happier than to walk laps around our house, and to chase Casper. Casper, our mean cat, pretends to be annoyed that you grab his fur and tail, but I think he loves it because he doesn't move and when you nap he naps.
You're very serious. You enjoy observing the situation and it takes you a minute to warm up to new people. You're very bright and pick up on our actions. This past weekend we were playing outside with your dad and Jojo. Before going inside your dad picked up Jojo's paws to wipe them off. I didn't think you noticed this but later that day you crawled up to Jo and lifted up one paw to look underneath, and then lifted up the other.
You've become a really picky eater and won't try anything. I think part of the reason is you don't want to be strapped down in your highchair. The other night we could only get you to eat by feeding you yogurt while you walked around the house. Your dad made the comment that we need to get you a camel back.
I look forward to all of the new skills you'll learn in this coming year. I know the time will pass way too quickly but we'll enjoy every day of it. Your dad and I love you so much baby doll and can't imagine our lives without you.
Love, Momma
